Howard S. Wright Partners with Multnomah County Library to Deliver Renovations

Honoring their service.

We celebrate teammates like Shane Rogers, a U.S. Air Force, Gulf War and third-generation veteran whose leadership and dedication now help deliver critical federal projects that strengthen our nation’s defense. Shane’s story reminds us that the skills veterans bring, such as discipline, problem-solving and mission-first mindset, are invaluable in construction and beyond. Join us in thanking all who served and in asking: What can we do for veterans? Whether it’s mentorship, career pathways, or advocacy, every effort matters. Electrifying a 160-year-old railway is no easy feat

The Caltrain Electrification project was a paragon of design, engineering and coordination as our teammates and partners worked for more than seven years to replace aging, diesel-powered commuter trains with a modern, sustainable electric fleet. On a project that sits at the convergence of electrical, operational, environmental and public interface risks, our teams were vigilant about recognizing and mitigating hazards at all times. Despite the scale and duration of the project, the team's diligent commitment to Zero Harm led to zero fatalities and an impressively low lost-time incident rate, earning a nomination from the Associated General Contractors of California for the Safety on a High Hazard Project Award.

Throughout the 52-mile corridor the team electrified 104 miles of railway track.

The team designed and constructed two traction power substations, one switching station, seven paralleling substations and 28 wayside power cabinets.

91³Ô¹ÏÍø Recognizes Live Traffic as Fifth Fatal Risk in Construction

To lead the industry and make our work zones safer, 91³Ô¹ÏÍø has launched a new initiative to recognize live traffic as a fifth fatal risk in construction. This expands beyond OSHA's long-established and well-entrenched Fatal/Focus Four hazards in our industry. 91³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s initiative acknowledges the uniquely deadly and debilitating hazards posed by vehicles traveling through work zones and underscores our commitment to eliminating live traffic risks to our workforce and the public. Watch our teammates describe their raw and emotional experiences working in and around live traffic and join our efforts to eliminate live traffic risks so everyone goes home safely each day.
