Inglewood Unified School District Celebrates Historic Groundbreaking for New Inglewood High School Campus

INGLEWOOD, CA The Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD) proudly celebrated a defining moment in its history with the groundbreaking of a brand-new Inglewood High School campus on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. With an overall budget of approximately $240 million, funded mostly through bond proceeds from Measure I, this transformational project marks a bold investment in the future of Inglewood students and a powerful commitment to enhancing student learning, innovation, and achievement. 

District and Board leadership, educators, and community partners came together to mark the occasion with pride and anticipation. The new state-of-the-art campus will be a beacon of innovation, designed to foster critical thinking, creativity, and adaptability, and built to meet the evolving needs of students today and into the future. From collaborative classrooms and specialized labs to modern technology and flexible learning environments, the future of education in Inglewood is being built from the ground up.

This is more than groundbreaking, this is a promise, said Dr. James Morris, IUSD County Administrator. We are promising our students a future where innovation, access, and excellence intersect. This investment reflects our unwavering belief that every student in Inglewood deserves a world-class education in a world-class learning environment, one that prepares them to step confidently into their future.

Echoing this commitment, Raphael Guzman, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services and Chief Business Official, emphasized the community-driven process behind the project. There has been collaboration between teachers, staff, parents, students, and the community. Everyone has had a say in how this facility will look. We are very excited for what the future will bring with the brand-new Inglewood High School, he shared.
